Border Patrol Intercepts 100 Boating Migrants

Newest in wave of human smuggling to United States.

Last week, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported that they detained 123 migrants in “a maritime smuggling event”. The group boated from Haiti to the United States, landing 20 miles north of Key West, Florida, where they were intercepted by border patrol agents, along with federal, state, and local partners, and brought to shore safely. The migrants were unharmed, though a few were dehydrated from the trip.

“While on scene, I witnessed the great work being done to ensure the safety of these migrants whose lives were put at risk by smugglers,” Chief Patrol Agent Walter Slosar stated. After receiving care, the group was transferred to Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for Chief Patrol Agent Slosar as he heads CBP’s Miami region.
  • For CBP agents as they seek to safeguard the border and the migrants who are being smuggled.
  • For Secretary Mayorkas to seek God’s guidance as he leads Homeland Security.
