Congress Considering Russian Oil Import Ban

Speaker Pelosi said the move would isolate Russia from global economy.

Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi said that the chamber is “exploring” legislation that would ban the importation of Russian oil, and that Congress intends to enact a bill this week for $10 billion in aid for Ukraine in response to Russia’s military invasion.

“The House is currently exploring strong legislation that will further isolate Russia from the global economy,” she stated.

“Our bill would ban the import of Russian oil and energy products into the United States, repeal normal trade relations with Russia and Belarus, and take the first step to deny Russia access to the World Trade Organization,” the House speaker said.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Speak Pelosi to be led by God in bringing legislation to the House floor.
  • For wisdom for the representatives of the House as they consider banning Russian oil imports.
  • For the president and his administration as they continue to discuss ways of addressing the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
