A security alert released by the U.S. Embassy in Moscow urged American citizens who are in Russia should leave the country “immediately.” Commercial airlines are canceling flights to and from Russia, so U.S. citizens should consider leaving Russia while some commercial options are still available.
The notice comes as global tensions are increasing, and as Russia continues its invasion of Ukraine. Several NATO member states have also closed their air space to Russian planes, which has placed intercontinental travel at the risk of major disruptions.
