Vice President to Attend Munich Security Conference

Russia-Ukraine tensions high on the agenda.

Vice President Kamala Harris will hold a series of in-person meetings with U.S. allies and partners at the Munich Security Conference next week.

She will deliver a speech articulating U.S. policy in seeking to deter Russian aggression in Ukraine. She will have a number of public engagements and assert America’s commitment to its NATO allies. Leaders of Germany, the EU, and NATO will attend. The vice president is not expected to meet leaders from Russia and China, although the head of the conference is hoping that Russian President Putin will participate.

The Munich Security Conference, which was begun by nations in the West at the height of the Cold War, will take place February 18-20. Around 35 heads of state are expected to convene. The meeting last year was held virtually due to COVID-19.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the vice president as she and her team prepare for her participation at the Munich conference.
  • For the vice president to seek the Lord for wisdom as she represents the U.S. at the conference.
  • For discernment for all the international leaders who will convene.
