Secretary Cardona Lays Out Education Game Plan

Looking beyond the pandemic.

U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona gave an address last week that outlined his vision for educational leadership moving forward. He stressed that merely pushing for pandemic recovery is not enough, and laid out key actions to address opportunity and achievement gaps, make higher education affordable, and create usable routes from higher education to successful career paths.

“Reopening schools—and keeping them open—while critical, is insufficient. Our hardest and most important work lies ahead,” Secretary Cardona stated. “Our task is not only to improve our education system from where it was before the pandemic, but also to take bolder action to elevate it to lead the world.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Cardona as he casts his vision for the future of education in the U.S.
  • For officials in the Education Department to seek God’s direction on the projects and programs that will benefit students most.
