VA Plans to Roll Out Electronic Health Records by 2024

Hopes to streamline health care for veterans.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has created an updated plan to fully modernize their system for tracking health records by 2024. The VA will be restructuring the Electronic Health Record Modernization program by altering their management approach and establishing new roles to better support the ongoing transition.

“Under my direction, VA is refining EHR governance and management structures to establish additional rigor and oversight,” said VA Deputy Secretary Donald Remy. “VA, in coordination with our partners, the Department of Defense and EHR vendor Cerner, will continue to update and refine the EHR implementation process to ensure it delivers the excellence Veterans expect and deserve from VA.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For discernment for Deputy Secretary Remy as he oversees this restructuring.
  • That officials in the VA to be effective in making this transition.
  • For wisdom for Secretar McDonough as he heads the VA Department.
