Federal Judge Dismisses Keystone XL Challenge

Decision based on the permanent halt of the project by developer.

Southern Texas U.S. District Court Judge Jeffrey Brown recently dismissed the case that was brought against the president’s administration regarding the Keystone XL Pipeline. The case sought to determine whether or not a president can revoke a cross border permit that was congressionally approved.

In his decision to dismiss, Judge Jeffrey Brown cited a brief from pipeline owner, “The court takes TC Energy at its word that Keystone XL is dead. And because it is dead. Thus, the court has no jurisdiction and the case must be dismissed as moot.” The company that was developing the pipeline permanently abandoned the project in June of 2020.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the judges who are hearing cases regarding the authority of the Executive Branch.
  • For those who lost jobs as a result of the project shut down.
  • For wisdom for the president and his energy advisors as energy costs rise due to inflation.
