Secretary of State Speaks with France, Germany, and UK

Discusses how best to deter Russian aggression against Ukraine.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke over the phone with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, and UK Foreign Secretary Elizabeth Truss last week. This call took place prior to President Biden’s discussion with the president of Ukraine.

State Department spokesman Ned Price said, “They discussed the importance of continued coordination to deter any further Russian aggression against Ukraine and affirmed the consensus among Allies and partners to impose massive consequences and severe costs on Russia for such actions.”

The leaders also communicated their equal concern for nuclear development in Iran, solidarity for Lithuania as they face political pressure from China, and Libya’s efforts to organize national elections.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Blinken as he communicates the intentions of the United States with the world.
  • For the United States and its allies as they formulate plans to support Ukraine.
  • For God’s purpose to be accomplished through the State Department and the president’s administration.
