Interior Secretary Visits Bay Area

Focused on infrastructure improvements in the region.

Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland traveled to the San Francisco Bay Area last week to highlight areas under the jurisdiction of the Interior Department that would be helped by the recently passed infrastructure bill by Congress. The Golden Gate National Recreation Area will receive several improvements including renovated buildings and a new ferry service to Alcatraz Island.

Secretary Haaland said of the projects, “One of the best investments we can make is in stewarding the lands and waters that sustain us and the generations to come. The Interior Department is making critical investments around the country that will create tens of thousands of jobs, safeguard the environment, and help ensure that national parks and public lands are ready to meet the challenges of climate change and increased visitation.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For officials in the Interior Department to have wisdom as they oversee updates to aging infrastructure.
  • For Secretary Haaland to seek God’s direction as she leads the Interior Department.
  • For Congress to vote on legislation that would God in stewarding His creation.
