900,000 Children Receive COVID-19 Vaccine

White House announces first dose rollout, schedules 700,000 for week two.

On Wednesday, health officials in the White House announced the results of a national push to vaccinate schoolchildren against COVID-19. In the first week of the vaccine rollout, roughly 900,000 children were given their first dose of the vaccine. White House COVID-19 coordinator Jeff Zients said of the progress, “We’re off to a very strong start.”

Children aged 5-11 are now eligible to receive the vaccine as of November 2. An additional 700,000 doses are already scheduled around the country for this coming week. The United States has a total of 28 million children who are in this age range. During the pandemic, 2 million cases of COVID-19 have been reported in children in this age bracket.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For healthcare providers to be discerning in their recommendations for vaccinations.
  • That Jeff Zients would seek God’s wisdom on how to address the coronavirus.
  • For the CDC as they evaluate and assess the waning pandemic.
