NASA Announces Moon Flight for February

Uncrewed flight will lay the foundation for human exploration.

It is 52 years since NASA’s space program put humans on the moon, beginning with the Apollo 11 mission and Neil Armstrong’s famous “giant steps.”

Now NASA has announced plans to launch an unmanned flight around the moon in February 2022. The space agency said it was in the final phase of testing to send its Orion capsule in an orbit around the moon on its Space Launch Rocket system.

NASA said the Artemis I mission will “pave the way for a future flight test with crew” before “more complex missions with astronauts on and around the moon.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for Administrator Bill Nelson as he heads NASA.
  • For the engineers and scientists at NASA as they complete tests and assure readiness for the launch to the moon in February.
  • For U.S. officials as they work on space technology as other nations vie for preeminence in space.
