HUD Announces Disaster Assistance for Vermont

Foreclosure relief and mortgage insurance available.

After President Biden issued a major disaster declaration last week for certain counties in Vermont, the Department of Housing and Urban Development announced their federal disaster assistance initiatives to help the state recover from the impact of multiple severe storms.

“Federal funding is available to state and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the severe storm and flooding in the counties of Bennington and Windham,” White House Press Secretary Psaki stated. Mortgage insurance and foreclosure relief will be offered by HUD for as long as Vermont is in a state of disaster.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For HUD officials as they assist communities in recovery efforts.
  • For state and local leaders in Vermont as they utilize government funds to recover.
  • For the president as he approves emergency declarations for states that have experienced natural disasters.
