No Migrants Remain at Del Rio Border Camp

DHS secretary tells migrants not to come to the U.S. illegally.

Last Saturday, nearly 15,000 migrants, most of them Haitian, were waiting for asylum at the Del Rio border camp. On Friday, zero migrants remained at the camp. The president’s administration went into high gear to process 12,400 of those camped there, offering temporary entrance into the country to stand before immigration court. Nearly 30,000 migrants had passed through the encampment since September 9 according to Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas.

Secretary Mayorkas called the numbers “unprecedented” and that deportation decisions would be based on “our public health and public interest authorities.” He further said, “If you come to the United States illegally, you will be returned. Your journey will not succeed, and you will be endangering your life and your families’ lives.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president and his administration as they evaluate immigration policies.
  • That Secretary Mayorkas would seek God’s guidance as he heads DHS.
  • For the Customs and Border Protection agents as they face overwhelming numbers of migrants.
