In the News…

An intense debate over the role of teaching critical race theory at military educational facilities occurred among members of the House Armed Services Committee. The debate was begun as minority party members attempted to include a ban on the concept as part of an annual defense budget spending bill.

The debate, which lasted nearly two hours, involved a lot of pro and con information.

Representative Steven Horsford of Nevada stated, “We need to teach the truth about American history. All of American history, including slavery, including Jim Crow. And by being honest about our past, we can eventually teach the hard truths about our country.”
