Vice President Speaks Out on China’s Aggression

Speaks about China’s actions in the South China Sea while on her SE Asian tour.

During a speech in Singapore on Tuesday, Vice President Harris focused her remarks on China, giving a clear picture of the approach President Biden’s administration is taking toward that Asian power. The vice president stressed that the United States would continue to support its allies in the region, particularly countries that have come into conflict with China over disputed territorial claims over the South China Sea.

“We know that Beijing continues to coerce, to intimidate, and to make claims to the vast majority of the South China Sea,” Vice President Harris said. “Beijing’s actions continue to undermine the rules-based order and threaten the sovereignty of nations.” China has made a concerted effort to claim most of the South China Sea, far extending beyond the United Nations agreement setting a nation’s exclusive economic zones at 200 nautical miles off the country’s coast.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For safety for Vice President Harris during her international travels.
  • For the State Department to work out a peaceful deal with China.
  • For the president’s administration to seek the Lord’s wisdom on their approach toward China.
