Senator Raises Civil Rights Concerns Over Training

Defense contractor questioned over “White men’s caucus.”

Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas has requested Lockheed Martin reply with answers by June 11 regarding a three-day diversity training held in 2020 exclusively for white male executives. The defense contractor allegedly supplied materials identifying negative assumptions associated with the race and gender of those participants.

Senator Cotton wrote, “this training, if it occurred, appears to violate the principle of equal treatment that is the bedrock of American law, including civil-rights law.” His letter continued, “Title VII of the Civil Rights Act in particular forbids employers from discriminating on the basis of race and engaging in any activities that ‘limit, segregate or classify [their] employees.’”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For members of the U.S. Senate as they seek to safeguard civil rights.
  • For wisdom for Congress as the nation’s society undergoes challenging shifts and issues.
  • For God’s purpose to be accomplished in the United States.
