Presidential Remarks on Mother’s Day

President and First Lady reflected and sent well wishes.

On Sunday, President Biden wished the mothers of America a happy Mother’s Day and honored the memory of his own mother. He reflected on the wisdom that she passed down to him when she said, “the greatest virtue of all is courage, because, without courage, you couldn’t love with abandon.” The president also tweeted about his mother saying, “My mom taught me about the importance of family, loyalty, and faith. Her immeasurable strength lives on in all of her children, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, and the many other lives that she touched.”

First Lady Jill Biden also sent her greetings to mothers around the country, reflecting on the challenges that the pandemic has created. She said, “I know it feels like so much is on you. It was a lot even before the pandemic, and, just when you thought there was little left to give, you gave more because you’re a mom and that’s what moms do.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That the president and first lady would see God’s direction for the way they guide the nation.
  • For mothers across the nation dealing with the aftermath of the pandemic.
