White House Responds to Economic Growth

Chair of Economic Advisors expresses cautious optimism.

This past week, the latest economic reports of Gross Domestic Product, Personal Income, and the Employment Cost Index were released. The White House expressed hopes that government programs were impacting the American people positively, attributing the 6.4% growth in the last quarter to the stimulus package and a high vaccination rate.

The White House Chair of Economic Advisors Cecilia Rouse did caution against being too optimistic, stating, “The U.S. economy is still about one percent below where it was pre-pandemic and more than 3 percent below its pre-pandemic trend.” But she is expecting that continued efforts will help the economy recover at a steady pace.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Chair Cecilia Rouse in her leadership of economic advisors.
  • For discernment for the president and his administration as economic data is reviewed.
