In the News…

White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain and counselor Steve Ricchetti received Representatives Josh Gottheimer of New Jersey and Brian Fitzpatrick of Florida who chair the  bipartisan moderate Problem Solvers Caucus.  Other members were also present.

“The American people want us to work together across party lines,” Representative Gottheimer told reporters. “We actually have to use our bipartisan muscles or they will continue to atrophy.”

The meeting was a follow-up to a letter the group wrote to the president last month laying out its priorities. Besides the massive infrastructure package, members discussed immigration reform, mental health, veterans’ issues and other topics.

Representatives of the group visited the southern border a week ago. They intend to make immigration a priority issue after progress on the infrastructure bill.
