DHS Considers Restarting Border Construction

Installation of gates and technology part of CBP proposed plan.

President Biden’s administration is considering restarting construction on the wall at the U.S.-Mexico border. Department of Homeland Security Mayorkas indicated the possibility in response to a plan submitted by Customs and Border Protection to have gaps, gates, and technology installed and implemented.

“There are different projects that the chief of the Border Patrol has presented and the acting commissioner of CBP presented to me,” Secretary Mayorkas said. “The president has communicated quite clearly his decision that the emergency that triggered the devotion of [Defense Department] funds to the construction of the border wall is ended. But that leaves room to make decisions as the administration, as part of the administration, in particular areas of the wall that need renovation, particular projects that need to be finished.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That Secretary Mayorkas would seek God’s guidance in leading his department.
  • That the president’s administration would look to the Lord for discernment in immigration reforms.
  • For Customs and Border Protection officials and agents as they deal with a 15-year high influx of migrants.
