Leaders committed to strengthening ties in the future.
On Friday, President Biden spoke with President Zelenskyy of Ukraine about the two nations’ relationship with one another and their ongoing difficulties with Russia. The White House press secretary stated, “President Biden affirmed the United States’ unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of Russia’s ongoing aggression in the Donbas and Crimea.”
The two leaders also talked about efforts to reduce corruption and President Biden’s support for President Zelenskyy’s efforts to bring a reform agenda forward. The United States has recently seen Ukrainian relations as a vital check on Russian expansionism and the preservation of democracy in Europe.
