U.S. Sanctions Ukrainian Tycoon

U.S. ban includes the oligarch’s family.

The Department of State recently released a statement banning Ukrainian tycoon and former regional governor Ihor Kolomoyskyi and his family from entering the United States. Kolomoyskyi is known to be involved in corrupt activity and is believed to continue to engage in actions that undermine the Ukrainian democratic process.

A civil suit is being brought against Kolomoyskyi by the U.S. for alleged money laundering and stealing from a Ukrainian bank he owned at one point. Secretary of State Blinken said that Kolomoyskyi was “involved in corrupt acts that undermined rule of law and the Ukrainian public’s faith in their government’s democratic institutions and public processes, including using his political influence and official power for his personal benefit.“

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary of State Blinken as he upholds justice around the world.
  • That the Department of State would seek the Lord’s wisdom as he interacts with the global community.
