U.S.-EU Aircraft Tariffs Suspended after Discussion

Suspension announced by EU Commission chief von der Leyen.

The first phone call between the United States and the European Union under the new administration came this past week and resulted in rapid new developments for trans-Atlantic trading. Both President Biden and EU Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen announced the suspension of all tariffs imposed by the previous US administration.

“As a symbol of this fresh start, President Biden and I agreed to suspend all our tariffs imposed in the context of the Airbus-Boeing disputes, both on aircraft and non-aircraft products, for an initial period of 4 months,” said EU president von der Leyen. “This is excellent news for businesses and industries on both sides of the Atlantic.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That the aircraft tariff suspension would benefit the U.S. and European Union.
  • For American and European economies to experience a continued recovery.
  • That the president’s administration would seek God’s guidance in foreign policy.
