U.S. Reenters Paris Climate Accords

John Kerry Calls For Even Further Action

On Friday, the United States officially reentered the Paris Climate Accords. The international treaty calls on all nations to limit their carbon output in order to curb climate change. The accords also put a hard stop on rising average global temperatures at 2 degrees above pre-industrial levels.

John Kerry, the nation’s Special Envoy for Climate, expressed the need to keep working toward the goals set forth by the accord saying, “We know that just doing Paris is not enough.” He continued, “If every country delivered, we’d still see a warming planet Earth.” President Biden has pitched a federal jobs program to prevent further warming of the planet through green energy initiatives.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For God to work His purpose through the president’s goal to steward the environment and climate.
  • That the president’s administration would have discernment in the effectiveness of climate strategies.
