President Promotes Equality Act

Bill would update Civil Rights Act and Fair Housing Act.

President Biden released a statement praising the Equality Act, a new bill put forward by the House of Representatives that would expand protections to the LGBTQ+ community. The bill expands the protections offered under the Fair Housing Act and Civil Rights Act of 1964 to protect against discrimination based on sexuality or gender identity.

In a statement released by the White House, President Biden said, “The Equality Act provides long overdue federal civil rights protections on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity, locking in critical safeguards in our housing, education, public services, and lending systems — and codifying the courage and resilience of the LGBTQ+ movement into enduring law.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the Lord to guide Congress on the best way to vote on this bill.
  • For God to accomplish His purposes through the president’s administration.
  • For the Lord to guide the hearts of lawmakers to follow His will.
