NORAD Runs Operation NOBLE DEFENDER Exercise

Training takes place in Alaska with Air National Guard.

The 176th Wing of the Alaska Air National Guard recently participated in Operation NOBLE DEFENDER exercises for search-and-rescue and personnel recovery. North American Aerospace Defense (NORAD) Command Arctic is in charge of this air-defense operation.

“The Noble Defender series seeks to support a variety of campaign objectives for NORAD Command. … The Air Force places special emphasis on the recovery of its Airmen and specifically organizes trains and equips for the spectrum of personnel recovery operations,” said U.S. Air Force Colonel Joseph Alkire, 611th Air Operations Center deputy commander. “Rescue is a key element in sustaining the morale, cohesion and fighting capability of friendly forces.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the U.S. Air Force as they train in search and rescue operations.
  • For NORAD as they seek to keep the airspace of North America secure.
  • For the president’s administration to wisely utilize the U.S. military.
