Georgia Holds Senate Run-Off Election

Results to deteremine control of the U.S. Senate.

On Tuesday, Georgians headed to the polls to cast their votes in the state’s two run-off elections. The state has already surpassed the record for votes cast in a runoff election with over 3 million votes cast early through the mail or at early voting locations. Turnout on Tuesday was reported to be lower by election officials saying that wait times were “nearly nonexistent.”

President Trump expressed how important it would be to vote in person on Tuesday saying, “you’ve got to swarm it tomorrow.” Only one of the two races needs to be won by the president’s party to retain the majority in the Senate. Both opposing candidates would need to win in order to split the Senate 50-50, causing the vice president to act as the tie-breaking vote.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the outcome of the run-off election to accomplish God’s will for the U.S. Senate.
  • That the Senate would work for the good of the nation in the new term.
  • For the Lord to help the Senate to work well with the incoming administration.
