Russia and China Hold Joint Military Air Drill

South Korea scrambled fighter jets as precaution.

Four Chinese warplanes followed by 15 Russian aircraft entered the Korea Air Defense Identification Zone on their way to a joint military air mission over the Pacific Ocean. In response, the South Korean military dispatched air force fighters to take tactical measures.

The South Korean military said the Chinese military had informed South Korea that its planes were carrying out routine training before the Chinese aircraft entered the protected zone.

South Korea’s foreign ministry contacted both China and Russia and told them there should not be a recurrence.

“This incident seems to be a joint military drill between China and Russia but it requires further analysis,” a statement from the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff said.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For America’s Pentagon officials who will be responding to the joint military drills between Russia and China.
  • For government officials as they address increased threats to the U.S. by both high-level nations.
