Congress Reaches COVID-19 Relief Agreement

Americans to receive a second round of direct payments.

Late on Sunday night, Congress finally passed a bi-partisan relief bill aimed at tackling the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The bill passed by Congress amounted to $900 Billion that will be distributed to individuals, businesses, and vaccine distribution. Individuals making less than $75,000 per year will qualify for a $600 direct payment. The bill also passes an extension to increased unemployment and funding for the Paycheck Protection Program.

Leaders of both parties praised the aid efforts. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said, “We can finally report what our nation has needed to hear for a very long time. More help is on the way.” House Speaker Pelosi also expressed her confidence saying, “We have now reached agreement on a bill that will crush the virus and put money in the pockets of working families who are struggling.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That God would lead Congress to pass the best laws to help the nation recover.
  • That God would help the president have wisdom on the best route for economic recovery.
  • For the Lord to help struggling Americans this Christmas season.
