Secretary Pompeo Meets With Bahraini Minister

Both leaders work to strengthen ties between the two countries.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met with the Bahraini Foreign Minister Al Zayani on Tuesday to discuss matters of security in the Middle East and the formation of normalization with Israel. Bahrain hosts the United States’ Naval Central Command and has joined the U.S. to act as a check on Iran.

Secretary Pompeo said of the meeting, “Together, our two teams have achieved historic outcomes for the entire Middle East.  I’m very confident that what we’re doing today, this dialogue and the sessions that will follow, will lay a foundation for more successes, and frankly an even stronger alliance.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Pompeo’s efforts to keep people safe around the world.
  • That the State Department would be able to strengthen U.S. relations with foreign powers.
  • That the president’s administration would have discernment as various pressing issues facing the nation are addressed.
