Ohio Senator Portman Enters COVID-19 Vaccine Trial

Says his participation is part of his civic duty.

On Tuesday, Ohio Republican Senator Rob Portman announced that he had been enrolled in a Phase 3 COVID-19 vaccine trial. The trial, run by Janssen-Johnson & Johnson is the third major company in late-stage trials to bring immunity to the disease that has infected over 11 million Americans. It is expected that the most vulnerable Americans would begin to be vaccinated by the end of December.

Senator Portman said that he saw his participation as a civic duty saying, “I look at it as a way I can play a small role in supporting our country’s health care response to this pandemic. The more people Johnson & Johnson has in the trial, the sooner they can have the complete data they need to finalize this phase of the trial and move on to the FDA approval process.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That those participating in the vaccine trials would have no ill effects.
  • For the Lord to bring an end to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • For the Senate to pass measures to help struggling Americans.
