President Establishes 1776 Commission

He wants to end radical indoctrination of our students.

On Monday, just one day before the presidential election, President Trump signed an executive order establishing the 1776 Commission.

In a tweet he said, “Just signed an order to establish the 1776 Commission. We will stop the radical indoctrination of our students and restore patriotic education to our schools.”

He first announced plans for such a commission during a speech at the White House Conference on American History held in September. At the time he denounced a New York Times 1619 Project on slavery as “toxic propaganda” saying it was “an ideological poison that, if not removed, will dissolve the civil bonds that tie us together.”

The new commission is charged with promoting “patriotic education.” Enacting the commission’s recommendations will require “local communities reasserting control of how children receive patriotic education in their schools” instead of mandates from the classroom.

The commission has a two-year lifespan.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the members who will be selected to be a part of the 1776 Commission and the charge they have received from President Trump.
  • About public school education and the information students are given in history and civics classes.
