Interior Department Transfers Water Projects to Local Users

Congress will have 90 days to review the sale.

The Interior Department announced last week that it would be transferring the ownership of the Oakes Test Area to the Dickey-Sargent Irrigation District in Oakes, North Dakota following the district’s purchase of the property. The U.S. Congress will have 90 days to review the proposed transfer of ownership of the water project before being finalized.

“This title transfer will improve local control and fulfill the Trump Administration’s goals to streamline bureaucratic processes and facilitate local investment to help maintain and rebuild American infrastructure,” said Deputy Secretary of the Interior Kate MacGregor. “The new title transfer process under the Trump Administration has created unprecedented opportunities throughout the West, and I’m proud to be part of this historic effort.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That God would use the Interior Department to protect the nation’s water sources.
  • For Deputy Secretary MacGregor to be used by God to lead the department effectively.
  • That God would give the Trump Administration wisdom on how best to preserve God’s creation
