More Aid Coming to American Farmers

“We’ve listened to farmers,” Agriculture Secretary says.

Earlier last week, President Trump announced a new round of pandemic assistance being readied for American farmers. On Friday, the Agriculture Department confirmed details of a second round of COVID-19 aid for the farmers, which will pay up to $14 billion to growers of major crops such as corn, soybeans, and wheat, as well as livestock, dairy and tobacco.

The package, largely funded by the Commodity Credit Corporation, also includes aid for growers of specialty crops and dairy, livestock, and poultry farmers.

“We listened to feedback received from farmers, ranchers, and agricultural organizations about the impact of the pandemic on  our nation’s farms and ranches, and we developed a program to better meet the needs of those impacted,” Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue said in a statement.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For America’s farmers who, like other businesses, have had to cope with the impact of the coronavirus.
  • That the aid to farmers would be distributed wisely and well by the Agriculture Department.
  • For the efforts of the president’s administration to help the nation recovery from the pandemic.
