Today, President Donald Trump will take part in a call with Jewish leaders in recognition of High Holy Days. During previous years, the president and the first lady welcomed Jewish community leaders to the White House, but due to the ongoing health concerns around COVID-19, the president will participate via teleconference.

“The High Holy Days are a time of both reflection on the past year and hope for renewal in the year to come,” the president said. “Jewish communities across the country, and around the world, enter into a time of prayer, repentance, and rededication to the sacred values and traditions that guide the incredible character, and spirit, of the Jewish people. We reaffirm the unbreakable bond between the United States and Israel, and we ask God to deliver justice, dignity, and peace on Earth. Melania and I wish everyone a sweet, healthy, and peaceful year, which we hope will bring many blessings to all.”

The conference call comes on the heels of the signing of the historic Abraham Accord, which marks the beginning of the normalization of diplomatic ties and peace between Israel and the UAE and Bahrain. During the coming days, the UAE and Bahrain will open Embassies in Israel and exchange ambassadors.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom and grace for the president as he meets with Jewish leaders today.
  • For God to bless the efforts of the administration as they work towards peace in the Middle East.
