Proclaim Christ

Check your knees.

Colossians 1:28 – Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ.

“When you obey God, the hosts of Heaven stand at attention, ready to aid you in your righteous endeavor; the Spirit of God comes alongside to help; Jesus adds His ‘Amen’ to your prayers; and our Heavenly Father moves creation to work on your behalf.” Those words summarized a sermon by Ken Henson who pastors a church in Bangalore, India.  They are just as true in America, half a planet away.

As the nation prepares for the coming election, it seems there are two kinds of Christians in America: those with weak knees, and those with strong ones.   You can identify them by how well they stand up! Those who are weak-kneed are unable or unwilling to do anything because they are influenced by strong emotions such as fear, or because they are intimidated by others.  Then there are the others, like James, who earned the nickname Old Camel Knees during his ministry, because he spent so much time praying—so much time that his knees hardened like those of a camel. It is not the most flattering of nicknames, but it is evidence of his boldness in Christ.

God has given you His truth; he wants you immersed in it so that you are able to know the answers to the confusions of today’s world. He has given you clear direction. He has filled you with the power of the Holy Spirit. He blesses your life with grace. Do all that you can to proclaim Him…and when You aren’t able to do that yourself, be on your knees for the ones who can.

Pray With Us

Heavenly Father, thank You that through You I can have power, strength, energy and the wisdom of Heaven. Fill me with the fervor that I need to use these for Your glory. Thank You for Your Love given in Jesus, in whose Name I ask for Your direction for me today.

Amen.
