Holy Boldness

Romans 8:28-30 – And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.

Is all of this pandemic “stuff” really serving any purpose in our world – aside from causing more chaos and division? What could God possibly be doing that requires this to happen?? You can look at Romans 8 to help answer this question.

God works in all things – not some things or most things. All things. He works them together for good, not by themselves. He is able to make even sufferings of this time work for both His and your good (Romans 8:18). And He has called you. He is constantly working in you, just as He is working in everyone He has called.

God can (and does) use anything and everything for good, to make you more like Christ. If God is for you, then who could possibly be against you? Not pandemics or politics, or racial tensions, or anything else this world could throw at you. This means that whatever darkness may try to come at you, you can approach it with boldness, knowing that whatever Satan means for evil, God will use for good. May you find strength and comfort in that truth today.

Pray With Us

All-powerful, all-knowing God, You are so good. I know there are things in this world that try to steer me away from this truth. But I also know that You have called me to follow You, and that means that nothing can separate us. Help me remember that You have a purpose for everything, even when I can’t see it. Give me boldness to approach every situation with confidence, knowing that You are with me, making me more like Your Son. Thank you for Your unfailing love,

Amen.
