Don’t be surprised by troubles.
John 16:33 – I have said these things to you that you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart, I have overcome the world.
You see them every day—the tribulations of the world! Sin, sorrow, suffering, evil and injustice. Their effects are all around you, and they influence your life.
David Pratt, a pastor at McLean Bible Church near Washington, D.C. said in a recent blog, “Do not think for a second that you are defeated. Lift up your head, for you belong to the King… His spirit resides in you. So, no matter what is going on in your life today, no matter what you are facing, no matter what trial or tribulation surrounds you right now, do not walk with your head down.”
Let Jesus fill you with joy. Let His Holy Spirit establish you in strength. Know that in everything, He is your hope. There is nothing He has not overcome, and He will help you to be an overcomer also. You just have to ask Him. You are walking with a Conquering Hero. Lift up your head.

Loving Father, thank You for the reminder that I do not have to face anything alone. Help me realize that nothing comes as a surprise to You, and that, no matter that I am unable to see it, You are at work to fulfill your purpose for me, for this nation, and for the world. I will hold my head high today because I am Your child and I trust in You. In the majestic name of Jesus,
