President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are staying at the White House in Washington, D.C. today. They will be hosting a reception celebrating the history of the White House Rose Garden. In July, the first lady announced the plan to renew and update the garden by saying, “The restoration of this historic garden is a much-anticipated project meant to improve one of the most iconic locations on the White House grounds.”

The first lady added, “The very act of planting a garden involves hard work and hope in the possibility of a bright future. Preserving the history and beauty of the White House and its grounds is a testament to our nation’s commitment to the care of this landscape and our dedication to American ideals, safeguarding them for our children and their children for generations to come.”

Today’s event will unveil the updates and reopen the garden for use and celebrate the legacy of America.

The president and first lady have no other public events on their schedule for today.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president and first lady to be able to rest in the White House over the weekend.
  • For comfort and encouragement for the president following the funeral of his brother Robert Trump.
  • For God to be at work through the president and first lady as they honor the legacy of the nation in the Rose Garden.
