Hold On to Hope

Align your expectations with the will of God.

Hebrews 10:23 – Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised in faithful.

Is hope elusive?  If you pay attention to news broadcasts, many anchors and journalists would convince you that hope is not only elusive, it may be gone! You can be left feeling as though there is no control over anything any longer—not your own control, the government’s control, maybe even God’s control. Don’t believe it!

Everyone experiences moments of feeling hopeless. King David, in Psalm 42:11, asked, “Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me?”  He immediately prescribed his own resolution. “Hope in God, for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.”

Hope is far more than a wish … it is the confident expectation of what God has promised and His strength to fulfill it through His faithfulness.

God is not absent. He is not neglectful of you. He has a plan for this nation, and He is working that plan. Hold on to the knowledge of His faithfulness. Hold on to the understanding of His mercy and justice.  Remind yourself ,as David did, hour by hour if you need to, to hold on to hope by holding on to God.

Pray With Us

Almighty God, You are a Loving Father, and You are good. I bring my discouragements to You today. It isn’t for me to know Your plan, just to know that You do have one, and that it will not be for harm to me but will be for my good. Help me not to have a restless soul, but to keep my focus and my hope on You. In Jesus’ Name,

Amen.
