Congress Continues Negotiations for Stimulus

No deal as benefits are due to expire.

As the week continued forward into Friday morning, Congress had not yet agreed on the next phase of COVID-19 relief. Benefits such as expanded unemployment support are due to run out on Saturday. Congress currently is split on continuing these payments moving forward as the Department of Commerce announced yesterday that the U.S. economy dropped by one third.

Senate Minority Leader Schumer described Thursday’s discussion between top leaders saying, “Right now they don’t get how serious the problem is. Did we have a good discussion? Yes. Will we continue to discuss? Yes. Do we want to continue to come to an agreement? Absolutely. But it’s got to meet the gravity of the problem.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That God would lead Congress to pass the best support for Americans.
  • For Congress to work with President Trump’s Administration to bring help to the nation.
  • For an end to the pandemic.
