A Repentant Nation

It’s time for America to get honest.

2 Chronicles 7:14 – If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

A 2019 Pew Research report concluded that Christianity is in the decline in the United States. In fact, it is going “at a rapid rate.” In a dozen years, the percentage of Americans who say they are Christian declined from 78 percent to 65 percent. If this rate of change continues, America will be majority non-Christian by 2035.

In a faithless America, one where the influence of the God of the universe and His Son Jesus are set aside, there will be an incredible rise in selfishness, the loss of any value to life at any point, and, the implications of total political chaos bordering on anarchy.

God has a remedy, and it is called revival. There has to be a 180-degree change of mind about Him and His sovereignty over humankind. Sin has to be called what it is, unabashedly, and repentance must occur. Without it, in half a century, the great experiment known as the United States could likely disappear from the Earth altogether.

In an election year, it is important to be right with the Lord yourself, to keep short accounts with Him, to be the “salt and light” He has called you to be, and to acknowledge political leaders who are like-minded.

Pray With Us

Father in Heaven, You have warned us as a nation of what happens when, as a people, we turn our backs on You. You have also given us Your grace and mercy in allowing us to repent of the ways we have drifted from you, to turn toward righteousness, and to show Your love to others. We long for a “Christian America.” Help each of us to see Your hand at work among our political leaders and those who would seek to lead. Bring a Great Revival to this amazing nation, so that generations ahead of us will praise You. We love you, Lord, and pray in the Name of Jesus,

Amen.
