Unspeakable Advantage

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God.  – Isaiah 41:10

What a beautiful verse of Scripture! Isaiah 41:10 is worth a second read: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Do you hear the tenderness as the Lord assures you that He will always be present with you… you don’t even have to call. He is right here!

Fear not. Don’t be timid or afraid. He is God… your God – the all-sufficient One in the worst of times and the best of times. If you’re feeling weak, He will strengthen you; if you think you are sinking, He will rescue you. He will help you in every situation, if not solving the issue, He will guide you through it. He will hold you up when you waiver, or prevent you from falling by going hand-in-hand with you. You can have courage in the face of danger or intimidation.

Do you understand that as a believer you have an unspeakable advantage over one who declares there is no God?! Your faith puts you on a different level of thought –you know that the Lord has a personal interest in you. He is not an abstract object; He actually will help you carry your burdens. He is your stability in life.

Let your faith be strengthened in the knowledge that Jesus loves you. The Lord is faithful. His everlasting arms will comfort you. Trust Him. Call upon Him in every situation, from the gates at home to the seats of government, never fail to make prayer your first call. He is by your side!

By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 16 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. 17 By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. 19 We love because he first loved us.
