President Donald Trump has no public events on his schedule today. He is currently in Bedminster, New Jersey, and he is expected to remain for the weekend, celebrating his 74th birthday there on Sunday.
President Trump has habitually spent warmer weekends at this resort in Bedminster, as well as staying there during the month of August as an annual getaway. The president will attend campaign events during this stay.
It has been announced that the Republican National Convention will be held in Jacksonville, Florida in August. The venue was moved from Charlotte, North Carolina after the governor of that state refused to commit to a full convention. Several states offered alternate venues prior to the president choosing the state of Florida, to which he transferred his official residence in the fall of last year after having been a lifetime New Yorker.
