President Donald Trump will participate in a roundtable with law enforcement today. From the beginning of the president’s administration, he has been committed to partnering with law enforcement to ensure the safety of American communities and reducing crime. Discussions will include appropriate responses and possible reforms of procedures in light of the racial unrest and tensions that have increased recently due to wrongful deaths of people of color.

In the fall of last year, President Trump established a new executive Commission on Law Enforcement and the Administration of Justice. The commission’s purpose includes studying approaches to resolving substance abuse, homelessness, and mental illness as well as exploring best practices for recruiting, training, and supporting law enforcement officers.

Regarding the topic of law and justice, the president has said, “America is founded upon the rule of law. It is the foundation of our prosperity, our freedom, and our very way of life. But where there is no law, there is no opportunity. Where there is no justice, there is no liberty. Where there is no safety, there is no future.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump as he seeks the best avenues to preserve law and order.
  • For the leadership of law enforcement to discover avenues to ensure peace and safety as well as preserve liberty.
  • For the Lord to guide the discussion and resulting solutions.
