White House Pushes for Nursing Home Testing

All residents and staff across the country to be tested for COVID-19.

On Monday, the White House announced a new set of guidelines for suppressing the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to White House COVID-19 task force coordinator Dr. Deborah Brix, “We really believe that all 1 million nursing home residents need to be tested within the next two weeks as well as the staff.”

Nursing homes around the country have been major hotspots for the spread of the disease. 33 states are currently tracking and reporting long-term care facility deaths in their virus-related numbers. There are approximately 15,000 senior care facilities in the U.S.

President Trump was critical of the actions of some governors not having more testing in nursing homes, saying, “frankly, some of the governors were very lax with respect to nursing homes. It was obvious right from the beginning.” Many nursing homes were not able to acquire the needed testing kits early on in the pandemic due to federal and state shortages.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the Lord to lead President Trump to the best way to help the nation recover from the pandemic.
  • That the White House would clearly communicate with Americans about the best ways to remain healthy.
  • For God to bring an end to the COVID-19 pandemic.
