President Pushes Postal Service to Increase Amazon Prices

Plans to withhold loan until USPS does so.

On Friday of last week, President Trump announced that he would not be supportive of a $10 billion loan for the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) unless it began raising its prices for large shipping companies like Amazon and Walmart. From the Oval Office the president said, “The Postal Service is a joke because they’re handing out packages for Amazon and other internet companies and every time they bring a package, they lose money on it.”

President Trump has recently focused his attention on the USPS due to its lackluster revenue since 2005. USPS has faced growing competition from other shipping companies such as UPS, and FedEx, as well as a congressional requirement to fund employee benefits up to 75 years into the future.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump to be used by God to bring about a stronger nation.
  • For USPS to be guided to the best solutions for the future of mail.
  • That God would lead the Treasury Department on where to hand out loans.
