Today, President Donald Trump will be signing the H.R. 266, Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act that recently passed the House and Senate. This supplemental measure will continue to fund the loans to small businesses and support hospitals.

The package provides an additional $350 billion to the Paycheck Protection Program that was implemented so quickly, $75 billion for hospitals and $25 billion to expand testing. Testing has been identified as one of the keys to reopening the nation.

The number of new COVID-19 cases continues to decline, supporting the implementation of Phase One of the Opening America Again plan. The president and task force support the reinstitution of elective surgeries to return revenue to hospitals.

In Thursday’s Coronavirus Briefing at the White House, Director of Science and Technology in the Department of Homeland Security, Bill Bryant gave a report on the studies and countermeasures they have researching. “Our most striking information is the affect that sunlight has upon the virus. We measure decay of the virus by its half-life because it doesn’t change. Every 18 hours, the life of the virus is cut in half,“ he said. He stated that bleach kills the virus in a few minutes while rubbing alcohol kills it in under a minute.

President Trump announced that additional testing has begun with UV light on patients who are infected with the virus.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president as he seeks the best paths to reopening the economy..
  • For the bill President Trump signs to succeed in its goal to support small businesses and healthcare.
  • For the Science and Technology Office of the DHS to continue to make effective discoveries in combatting the virus.
