Travel Bans Extended with Canada and Mexico

President Trump promises additional immigration measures.

As the economic ramifications of the COVID-19 pandemic loom large in the mind of many officials in Washington, President Trump announced on Monday that he would be expanding the travel ban placed on Mexico and Canada. The restrictions will expand an additional 30 days for all non-essential travel. These decisions have been made “in close collaboration” with those two nations, said U.S. Acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf.

In addition to these new extensions, the White House announced that President Trump would be creating an executive order to block immigration to protect jobs during the nation’s economic recovery. President Trump made his announcement on Twitter saying, “In light of the attack from the Invisible Enemy, as well as the need to protect the jobs of our GREAT American Citizens, I will be signing an Executive Order to temporarily suspend immigration into the United States!”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump to be guided to the best travel and immigration policies.
  • For members of Congress to have wisdom on the best recovery plan for the nation.
  • That God would bring the nation and the world out of this pandemic.
