What is God Doing?

Isaiah 46:10 – My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish my purpose.

In these days of fear and confusion, of conflicting headlines and alternative projections, is your faith holding firm? You may have to fight off your thoughts that would challenge you—that make you wonder what it is that God is doing.

Psalm 24:1 says, “The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein.” That statement is repeated in 1 Corinthians 10:26, because it needs repeating!  The world belongs to your Sovereign God. He rules over everything, great to small, and that includes tiny microbes and viruses. He has a plan for this Earth and its inhabitants and has been working it from the dawn of creation. Psalm 33:11 says, “The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations.” Throughout all the ages of humankind, God has desired all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4).

There is no doubt that He has caught the world’s attention—His call is urgent; His desire is plain. Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:5).  Do not be deceived. There is no truth apart from Jesus Christ.

He knows where each tiny virus is, where it is going next, who will get it and who won’t. He always acts to do what is wise, good, and according to His purpose. Watch and see! His purposes will be fulfilled, in His way and according to His timing.

Pray With Us

Heavenly Father, You hold the whole Earth in Your hands and You are working everything according to Your eternal purpose. You alone are sovereign over all things. As You remind me of Your words, I have no reason to be caught up in panic or looking for someone to blame. Let me with Job of old testify, “I  know that You can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted” (Job 42:1). Teach me to accept what I do not understand, acknowledging that You are good, and I am loved. I praise Your Mighty Name,

Amen.
